the biegining of the year is going really well so far. in the first couple of races i was really off and just wasn't racing well but after a couple weeks of riding pretty hard everyday i am feeling a lot better. since i started traing i am getting 3rds instead of sixths. this weekend is iola. we are skiping baraboo because it sounds like everyone is plus it would be very expensive gas. mountain biking is feeling just great this year. i can go long and hard so i am going to do good this weekend hopfully. heres some pics of the last couple races.

first big ride

I finally got out for my first big ride of the year. Forty miles, two and a half hours, and a seventeen mile per hour average. Me, Nate, Gage, Theo, Jeremey, Jerry, Lori, Lenny, Bdog, Jay, and some other Hayes guys went out to Lyons. most of us got there but didn't do the lap. Jeremey, Jerry, Lori, Jay, and Springer went out and did the lap but everyone else turned around then. it was a tail wind the whole way out with all small hills. and then on the way back everyone died with a 15 mph head wind with all the bigger hills. i was fine until about half way back when i popped and started to slow way down. But i stayed with it and suffered to the end. can't wait for the season. First race this sunday down in South Beloit for a race on the blackhawk farms raceway. see ya

did my first two races and sucked. i got like a 6th and another 6th or something. anyway my breathing has been horrible but my legs are feeling great. can't wait for some warm races so i can breath normally and do a little better. seasons coming. peace.

starting riding indoors up at crank daddy's this month. i absolutely hate trainers. hopefully there will be a velo sport race this year so we can get off of the trainer asap.

it has been a long time since i last posted.....almost two months! any way, since then i have taken up snowboarding. me and gage have been going out every chance we get. were getting pretty good but we still go down here and there. so i can't wait till next season and i'll try to keep posting. bye bye

it has been a long time since i last wrote. since then i have been racing cyclo cross. it is very fun and i am currently in 3rd place behind nate and Ian Haupt. i did one race two years ago and hated cross but now i absolutly love it. im not sure if im going to the one this weekend but im gonna try.....i have a b-day party for one of my friends. we'll see

i have never really liked cross before this year and now i love it. at my first one of the year me nate and another kid were all off the front and nate got first i got third. second race me and nate broke away and he got first i got second. besides that i have just been riding no other races. no basketball this year either. it interupted biking.

today was probibly the most fun mountain biking i've had in a long time. me and gage were both out there on our single speeds and it was a blast. i love how smooth and easy going it was. i can't wait to get out there again but i have a flat so it won't be this week. im probibly racing cross this weekend too so we'll see.

well after a horrible first race in sport i think i'm a little more used to it now that the seasons over....great. but i was in second until half way through the first lap and then nate had a little crash and i passed him and never saw him again due to another crash where he got pretty banged up, but he still finished to find it was just a bruise on his ribs. i held my lead until half way through my last lap when i bonked and myles caught me. i rode with him for a mile or two and then he took off and i was left to finish up about a minute and eleven seconds off his time. so not to bad

its been a long time scince i last posted anything and i still don't have a lot to write about. the race sunday was my first ever sport race and i kinda sucked it up. my start was awsome, i was right on nate and was for about a mile and a half but then he stared dropping me once we hit the hills. after that i just kept going back. i saw miles once more and couldn't bridge the gap so i was about a minute back when. POP! there goes my tire. the race was over for me. we didn't ride that week due to gage not having a road bike(thanks to jeremeys cross bike)and the trails a pets being muddy. then this weekend we went out to the saturday cross stuff. we watched nate dominate coming in first in both the events and jeremey trying to get first. me and gage spent the day going up and down the hill to take pics and stuff. so my dad is gonna build me up a single speed and i'm gonna pre-ride with it at sheboygan. its just an old steel frame we had laying around so that will be fun. can't wait to race sheboygan. peace

tuesday i went out to pets with gage and then when we were out there we caught up to jerry, jeremey, and matt. after we caught them we did another hour and a half. the trails out at pets are really starting to shape up now. everything out there is smooth and there is not very much overgrowth or mosquitos. yeah!!!

i have just been completly off since school started. i haven't been riding as much and i really want to but im always so tired from school. but hopefully i'll be good after these first couple of weeks. but on another point....right now i'm planning on racing sport at sheyboygan because i know that course really well. i probibly wont but im also considering racing at iola......we'll see.

today a bunch of people went down to palos and we all did some pretty hard riding for us juniors anyway. me and nate were always up in the front of our group and gage was usually right with us except for once and a while in the single track. it was really fun but by the end me and nate were dead tired.

i crashed on the first set of single track. i was following nate into a turn and i barley tapped the brakes and i went down. i was all good though.

on saturday i had about the worst race of the season. but gage did absolutley spectacular and ended up with a well deserved first in state and third overall.i ended up fifth after trying to go off with the two michigan kids. right at the start one of the michigan kids took off and it was up to me and his friend to chase. we caught right away and we were off.i accidentally let one of them get away and then the other one jumped me and he got back up. when gage finally caught up to me i road with him and one other until a few laps later when he made his move on the top of the hill. i had nothing so i didn't even try to go with him. i eventually caught the other kid and we rode together until the end and on the last lap two kids we were lapping got in my way but not his and he got away right before the finish.

this day of track sucked. some new kid came and i wasn't watching him and he took off and i was all boxed in so i just had to sit in and take second. in the second race even though chazz missed the entire first round and the registration had been closed for like an hour they still let him race. so i sucked at tempos anyway so i went all out for the first sprint, didn't get it, and dropped off the back.

today me and gage went out for a nice little secret crit course ride. we thought out our plan for this weekend and one of the three plans we have is bound to work. as for me this weekend i plan on going as hard as i can for every single hill climb point. im so gunna win the climber thingy.

headed up early to the WORS race and right when i got there, i had only been up for like thirty minutes, i went for a pre-ride lap with nate and jay. the course was really fun which was all about to change. right when we got done with our lap it started to rain and it never stopped. i race at five and it started raining at 10. by the time it was my race it was all mud. which was all in my favor. i rocked it and got a first so i was happy. nate also ended up with a first and that two in a row for both of us.

in the morning i went to my grandmas to say good by to my aunt and uncle who live out in seattle. we just barely got back in time to eat get ready and then ride. me and gage went out to pets and sanders. after the ride it was all rest until track. in track i got a second and a first. in consolation some dude almost took me out so i had to basically stop so that i didn't get taken out. so i ended up being down two laps. but it was fun.

im writing about it a little late but yesterday was the wors race at crystal ridge. at the beginning it was looking good as i was on the kid who would usually beat me but and i stayed right with him my entire first lap. he got away from me on the big finishing hill and when i saw him going slow through the mud i chased him down hard. i went flying up to the kid who was in first place. he was going really slow in the mud so i caught up to him fast and went right by him. i never saw him again and so i finished first without a lot of difficulty. my brother taylor raced and was actually doing pretty good until he broke his derailuer hanger.
